Alexis boosted to score first for Arsenal v Crystal Palace!

Arsenal begin the new Premier League season by entertaining Crystal Palace in Saturday’s televised evening kick-off and Ladbrokes have joined in the festivities by enhancing new Gunners megastar Alexis Sanchez to grab the first goal.

Alexis was 4/1 to break the deadlock on his Premier League debut and is now 5/1 to find the net first at the Emirates.

Arsenal’s capture of the Barcelona man is arguably the signing of the summer, as many other top clubs including Liverpool were tracking the Chile World Cup star.

Sanchez scored 21 times for the Catalan giants last season and took that goal-scoring form into the World Cup, where he bagged twice.

In normal circumstances it seemed bonkers for Barca to let such a talented player leave their ranks, but in the end the need to recoup some of the huge £75m spend on Luis Suarez forced the hand of the Spanish giants.

Arsenal and Alexis’ chances of getting ahead in this clash have been given an unexpected advantage given the shock departure of opposition manager Tony Pulis.

The Eagles forged a reputation for defensive steeliness after the former Stoke boss took over at Selhurst Park last season, but no one would blame the players for appearing a little shell shocked when the run out in north London.

Although Alexis didn’t get on the scoresheet in Arsenal’s thumping 3-0 Community Shield victory he appeared to have settled into the team.

Last season Sanchez got off the mark on the opening day of La Liga as Barca thumped Levante 7-0 at the Camp Nou.
