The Tour winner elect is the 14/1 second-favourite for Stage 20, behind 1/4 jolly and Stage 9 winning noted-sprinter German Tony Martin, but surely we can do better than that…

Rarely will the peloton have seen a more determined figure, as Peraud will be aiming to topple second-placed countryman Thibaut Pinot and become the first Frenchman on the podium since Richard Virenque in 1997.

The Stage 16 winner is the shortest-priced of the highly-successful Tinkoff-Saxo team, who have won three of the last six stages, and the Aussie rider is sure to be prominent in Dordogne.

The only member of the peloton who can realistically stop a French 2-3, with Pinot and Peraud ahead and Romain Bardet just behind in fifth.
