Cash in with favourites in this week’s Europa League ties

The final whistle of the World Cup may still be ringing in the ears but attention has already turned to club action with the Europa League.

The early qualifying rounds of the competition are well underway and while the mismatched opponents mean the games may not make great viewing just yet there are still plenty of reasons to get involved.

Ladbrokes News has been through the fixtures to bring you the pick of the bunch with the following five odds-on favourites paying out a decent 9/2.

CSKA Sofia to beat Zimbru Chisnau @ 1/3

The 31-time Georgian champions have lost just one of their last 16 games at the Bulgarian Army Stadium and will fancy their chances against a side you’ve never heard of let alone could spell.

Chisnau finished fourth in the Moldovan top flight last year but have won just once in seven away games in the competition.

A banker if ever there was one.

Zulte Wargem to beat Zawisza Bydgoszcz @ 4/11

Zulte, who finished fourth in the Belgian league, should ring bells after taking four points off Wigan in last year’s competition.

Having lost just one of 13 home games they should cruise to victory over a side that finished sixth in the Polish top flight last term and has lost three of their last five away ties.

Bursaspor to beat Chikhura Sachkhere @ 3/10

Relative giants Bursaspor qualified for the tournament by a single point after finishing eighth in Turkey’s Super Lig.

However, they picked up where they left off with two recent wins and should make light work of a side that finished fourth in Georgia’s top league.

Molde to beat Hit Gorica @ 1/2

The club that sent Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to stardom is unbeaten in 17 games, having lost just one of their last 20 at home.

The established Norwegian side should face no problems from last year’s fourth-placed Slovenian outfit who boast a dire Europa League away record of seven losses and two draws from their nine fixtures.

Motherwell to beat Stjarnan @ 8/13

Motherwell, who finished second to Celtic in Scotland last year, look like world beaters on this list and should be backed as such against Icelandic runners-up Stjarnan.

‘Well lost a pre-season friendly with Fulham 2-0 recently but have won their last three competitive fixtures.

Stjarnan put eight past Bangor in the previous round but should find the SPL outfit a cut above the Welsh side.
