Arsenal still heading the queue for want-away French striker

One of the most speculated over transfers of the summer is where QPR striker Loic Remy will be plying his trade this season, if the Frenchman’s wishes to join a bigger club are placated.

Rather than continually chewing the fat down the local on this one, lucky Ladbrokes customers can cash-in instead, by taking the bookies up on their transfer window special bets.

The firm actually have Remy to remain at QPR as the 6/5 favourite in the market, though the French international has consistently made noises that he has aspirations to play away from Loftus Road in 2014/15.

Back in April, Remy – who scored 14 times on loan at Newcastle last season – dealt the Magpies a massive blow by saying he had no intentions of signing permanently, instead preferring to move to ‘a great European club’.

Since then, speculation has intensified that Arsenal is Remy’s number one choice, making the Gunners the 6/4 leading contenders to sign the French World Cup star.

It’s the worst kept secret in football that Arsene Wenger has been in the market for a striker, after being forced to rely so heavily on top scorer Olivier Giroud last season.

However, the recent capture of Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez does throw a little doubt over the situation.

If Wenger has it in his mind to convert Theo Walcott into an out-and-out striker this season, this could possibly negate the need for Remy.

But if the well-known spendthrift opts to overlook Remy’s overtures, then both 3/1 pokes Tottenham and 6/1 chances Liverpool could well be receptive to a move.

Tottenham are actively seeking another striker after struggling for goals last season, while losing Luis Suarez to Barcelona creates an obvious void at Anfield.
