After finding Premier League-level a little too hot last term, Vydra has dropped back down to the place he loves the most.
The Czech Republic international, who’s still owned by Serie A side Udinese, struck an impressive 20 times in just 27 Championship starts for the Hornets in 2012/13 when, under Gianfranco Zola, they missed out on top-flight promotion through the playoffs.
With Vydra back and last term’s 24-goal star Troy Deeney set to stick around, the Pozzo family plaything look a wild price to make it back into the big time.
Clayton Donaldson and Wes Thomas from Brentford and Rotherham to Birmingham = Birmingham top-ten finish @ 5/1
Last season’s League One hotshots Donaldson and Thomas, who struck 22 times in 60 combined appearances in England’s third tier, have abandoned the aforementioned promoted pair in favour of the second city’s second club.
Brum’s 2013/14 campaign was a disaster that very nearly ended in relegation, but the dreadful off-field issues that marred that campaign seemed to have quietened down considerably.
Coach Lee Clark has declared himself happy with the club’s eight signings so far, which also include defenders Jonathan Grounds, Grant Hall, Gavin Gunning, and David Edgar.
