Three picks to take Harris English’s St Jude Classic crown

Returning champion Harris English is in terrible form going into the FedEx St Jude Classic and looks impossible to back, even at odds of 33/1.
Having missed the cut in three of his last five outings and failed to secure a top 10 finish in each of his last eight tournaments the American seems to hold little chance of retaining his title.
With that in mind, Ladbrokes News’ James Curtis runs the rule over some possible heirs to the throne.
Johnson is no stranger to this tournament, having won in 2012, and despite a poor showing at The Memorial – where he tied for 46th – the big hitter cannot be ignored at 12/1.
With an average drive in excess of 311 yards, Johnson is the second most powerful driver on the PGA Tour this year and with no one else in the field ranked higher in the FedEx standings is rightly priced as the favourite.
His form may have been inconsistent this season, but with one win and six Top 10s to his name he is the pick of the bunch here.
With 14 of the last 15 winners being home-grown the odds are stacked in favour of an American champion once more.
But with the only man to buck that trend available at 16/1 2011 winner Westwood is worth considering.
Two top 10 placings are not much to write home about but his T6 finish at The Players Championship suggests the Englishman is approaching top form.
An outside shot at best after failing to make the cut on three of his last four outings but with Johnson the only field player ranking higher in the FedEx standings the price is just too good to ignore.
Reed ranks seventh on the list, having tasted victory at the Humana Challenge and more recently at the WGC-Cadillac Championship, and if he rediscovers his best form will certainly be among the front runners.
