Nigeria vs Bosnia-Herzegovina: Dzeko to do damage up front

| 21.06.2014

Bosnia-Herzegovina’s first World Cup game ended in narrow defeat to Argentina but we are predicting better things against a Nigeria team who failed to impress against Iran.

The Super Eagles are 10/3 to win here, with a Bosnia victory priced at 17/20 with the draw on at 5/2, but while that trio of odds are tempting enough, we’ve got another great threesome of bet tips for you to enjoy below.

Both teams to score @ 4/5

Nigeria may not have looked that impressive going forward against group minnows Iran but we are still backing them, along with Bosnia to find the net.

Manager Stephen Keshi will have had strong words for his team after last week’s poor showing and though they have struggled for goals of late, a 2-2 friendly draw with Italy demonstrates their potential while in Bosnia they are facing a national side that has one clean sheet from their last five.

Edin Dzeko to score first @ 4/1

The Manchester City man failed to find the net against Argentina, but we are predicting a brighter start against the significantly inferior Nigeria. Four of his last five goalscoring appearances for Bosnia have seen the former Wolfsburg man grab the first goal of the game.

Dzeko was also the hero in a recent 2-1 friendly win over Ivory Coast and we are backing him to open the scoring against African opposition again here.

Shola Ameobi to score anytime @ 10/3

Nigeria may have been one of the biggest disappointments of the opening round of fixtures but one man who did end the game with some credit was Shola Ameobi, following an all-action substitute appearance that almost culminated in goal, with one well-taken header going particularly close.

The former Newcastle United man ended the season with goals against Cardiff and Swansea in the Premier League and with Emmanuel Emenike failing to impress in the opening fixture, Ameobi could even be in line for a start here,
