Muller and Benzema boosted to score first in World Cup games

The World Cup has already thrown up its fair share of surprises but when it comes to picking out goalscorers from France vs Nigeria and Germany vs Algeria, it could pay to back two entirely predictable outcomes.

Les Bleus head into their second round encounter with the Super Eagles boasting a striker in scintillating form in front of goal so far in Brazil: Karim Benzema.

Two goals in France’s opening game set the tone with another coming in the 5-2 hammering of Switzerland that would have been part of another brace were it not for the bizarre early whistle of referee Bjorn Kuipers at the end of the game.

Set to line up against a Nigeria team fresh from shipping three goals to Argentina in their final group game, Benzema has received the price boost treatment, moving from 7/2 to 4/1 to find the first goal of the game, as he did against Honduras.

The Real Madrid man isn’t the only one getting a lift from Ladbrokes with Champions League adversary and Bayern Munich all-rounder Thomas Muller also boosted from 3/1 to 7/2 with the bookmakers to score first.

Germany’s top scorer with four goals in three games, including openers against Portugal and USA, Muller will be keen to retain the Golden Boot he won in 2010 with some more goals against surprise package Algeria.

With both strikers chasing current top scorer James Rodriguez in the World Cup scoring charts, back the big game duo to deliver early on with Ladbrokes.
