Mexico v Cameroon: Goals expected at both ends in Natal

Published:

With Brazil favourites to top Group A Mexico, Cameroon and Croatia are locked in a three-way battle to seal the runners-up spot and a place in the last-16.

Both Mexico and Cameroon will be confident of progression but much could depend of the outcome of their opening clash against each other.

El Tricolor go into the game as the slight favourites at 5/4 with their African opponents 13/5 for victory, while the draw is priced at 21/10 with Ladbrokes.

But we have broadened our search and found three best bets for all the action at Estadio das Dunas.

Both teams to score @ 6/5

Mexico may have gone through warm-up games against Bosnia and Portugal without scoring but Miguel Herrera are not know for firing blanks having scored 21 goals in the seven matches previous. And with both sides scoring in four of the last six games featuring Cameroon this looks a bet worth being on when the sides meet for just the second time.

Cameroon to win and both teams to score @ 15/2

Following on from our both teams to score bet we are backing the African nation to come out on top with the ball going into both nets at the Estadio das Dunas. Cameroon produced an excellent performance in holding much fancied Germany to a 2-2 draw, while they followed that up with a 1-0 win over Moldova. Mexico, on the other hand, have not had the best preparation for the tournament after suffering back-to-back defeats, and we are backing that losing run to continue here.

Eric Choupo Moting to score anytime @ 27/10

There will be plenty of pressure on the experienced Samuel Eto’o to grab goals for Cameroon during this World Cup campaign but one to definitely watch out for is Mainz striker Eric Choupo Moting. The 25-year-old has scored three goals in his last three appearances and he will be looking to add to his record of 12 goals in just 26 matches for the Indomitable Lions.
