Galway are hoping to create their own small piece of television history when they travel to Sligo for their Connacht Senior Football Championship semi-final.

The Sky TV cameras will be present for the very first time at a Gaelic Football match and it’s the away side who can be the maiden victors.

GALWAY to beat Sligo @ 4/9 (Connacht SFC Semi-Final, Live on Sky Sports)

Traditional Connacht powerhouse Galway look set to overcome Sligo’s home advantage and book a place in the provincial final for the first time in five years.

While the hosts will be boosted by the return of attacking stars Adrian Marren and David Kelly, poor recent form is a cause for concern having only narrowly escaped relegation from Division 4 this year.

Galway’s form has picked up greatly in the second half of the season as John Mulholland’s young team have started to come of age.

Their 19 point victory over in London was an excellent result and and their good run is likely to continue in Markiewicz Park

LAOIS to beat Fermanagh @ 1/4 (All Ireland SFC Qualifiers First Round, Live on RTE1)

A Ross Munnelly-inspired Laois are ready to wreak havoc when Fermanagh come to town with the visitor’s suspect defence a cause for concern.

The loss of John Woods with a broken jaw is a big blow for the visitors and one that Laois can exploit with their powerful forward line.

And following a shock defeat to Antrim in their recent Ulster quarter-final, Fermanagh manager Pete McGrath knows his side could find it difficult to re-build their fragile confidence here.

WICKLOW to beat Offaly @ 4/7 (All Ireland SFC Qualifiers First Round)

Ever-improving Wicklow are fancied to defeat an Offaly side in dreadful form having failed to pick up a single win since pre-season.

David Hanlon’s suspension won’t help matters and we fully expect The Faithful County’s poor spell to be extended when they travel to Aughrim.

Wicklow’s decent home record in qualifiers is another plus point with boss Harry Murphy no doubt confident his charges can deliver once again.

KILKENNY to beat Galway @ 1/3 (Leinster SHC Semi-Final, Live on RTE1)

Kilkenny’s dominance of hurling saw the Cats land six out of seven All Ireland titles between 2006 and 2012 and they’re on the rise again having already claimed this season’s league title.

Two victories over Galway were highlights of that campaign and we’re backing Kilkenny to claim a hat-trick of wins in this contest.

While no one can doubt the talent present in the Galway squad it is their consistency, or lack thereof, that often lets them down.

Struggling to beat lowly Laois in the first round was indicative of this trait with Kilkenny likely to pose a far sterner test.
