French Open: Bet on Nadal v Murray the Ladbrokes Life way
Rafael Nadal losses at the French Open are sporting rarities like Tom Cleverly goals, an England World Cup win or Arsenal trophies.
Such is the Spaniard’s dominance at Roland Garros, Britain’s two-time Major winner and only realistic hope Andy Murray is priced as the 5/1 underdog in their semi-final.
This, of course, means that Rafa is the 1/8 favourite to reach yet another final, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t a number of betting opportunities.
Whichever aspect of the Ladbrokes Life applies to you there’s a bet to be had and here Ladbrokes News takes a look at the top three.
The Professor bet – Nadal to win 3-0 @ 4/5
Nadal leads the head-to-head 14-6 but the clay court stats paint an even clearer picture of his dominance over Murray.
The Scot has never beaten Nadal in six attempts on the dust and with four of those victories coming in straight sets – including their 2011 semi-final meeting in this tournament – it looks ominous for Muzza.
The Gut Truster bet – Murray to win @ 5/1
Sometimes you have to ignore form and just follow your gut, much like England fans will be doing at the World Cup.
The facts are simple: Murray has beaten Nadal before so there’s no reason he can’t do it again – and at 5/1 there’ll plenty reward for those with faith should he emerge victorious.
The Believer bet – Murray to win 3-0 @ 20/1
You could back Nadal to win or even to bash Murray 3-0 but either way you’ll be staking more than you win.
That’s fine if it’s a slight increase you’re after but if it’s a worldy bet you want then Murray to turn the table and win 3-0 is the way to go at 20/1.
It may be the equivalent of a 10-game acca but if it comes in you’ll be laughing.
