Britain’s Got Talent: The FINAL Verdict on who will win
We’ve talked about the favourites, decided on our dark horse and pondered the outsiders. Now it’s time to give the final verdict as Britain’s Got Talent series eight reaches its dramatic conclusion.
Hot favourites Bars and Melody are 5/4 to win the £250,000 prize and the chance to perform in front of the Queen at the Royal Variety Performance.
But in what’s guaranteed to be a fiercely contested final, opinion is divided among the Ladbrokes News Team as to who will walk away this year’s winner.
Check out the thoughts of our editors ahead of one of TV’s biggest betting heats.
Yew’s BGT final verdict: Collabro to win @ 5/2
Oliver Yew says: Il Divo who? That’s the question that will be on everyone’s lips when Collabro, my pick for BGT glory, take home the big talent show prize on Saturday night.
The close-harmony group’s sensational performances of Les Miserables classics Stars and Bring Him Home have hit all the right notes with the judges and audiences up and down the country.
And with celebrity backing from Little Mix and Louis Walsh (Who can argue with musical genius Louis?), plus support from a wide spectrum of the British public they will be hard to beat come final night!
William Geldart says: I’ve highlighted Lucy Kay as one of the ones to watch and written off the favourites so I’m going to have to stick to my guns!
Bars and Melody and Collabro are going to be tough to beat but I can see the latter fighting it out with Jack Pack for votes.
That’ll leave Lucy to bring the house down once again and sweep in for what would be something of a surprise victory given the support shown to the market leaders.
Craig Kemp says: Favourites Bars and Melody have 10 times as many Twitter followers as their rivals and this could prove pivotal in securing their success among a social media savvy audience.
Voters can now pick their winner via the Britain’s Got Talent App and with the rap duo enjoying such enormous online popularity, this could be the clincher.
The fact that viewers from outside the UK can now vote for the first time could also be significant, with the pair’s recent appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in the US attracting a global following.
