Arsenal or Spurs could show Mexico striker the love he craves

During a season of frustration and misery at Old Trafford after Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure, no one felt the pinch more than striker Javier Hernandez, who was marginalised under David Moyes.

After spending large proportions of the season familiarising himself with the dug-out, unsurprisingly Chicarito quickly became the subject of transfer speculation which is unlikely to relent.

Clearly upset at the lack of game-time afforded to him at Old Trafford last season, Hernandez said:”This whole year has been very tough. Players need confidence more than anything else, and I’ve been very short of it.

“Very few people have shown faith in me over this past year.”

Thus far in Brazil, it’s been all-too familiar feeling for Hernandez, who has not been trusted from the start for any of EL Tri’s first three group games, though he has appeared off the bench in all three.

And he showed eccentric Mexico coach Miguel Herrera and any potential suitors what he’s all about in the final Group A game against Croatia, when he added the polish to a 3-1 win with a typically unerring finish.

Mexico now play Holland in the second round where their priced up as 11/4 outsiders for victory, while Chicharito is 8/1 to grab the game’s last goal.
