Which Serie A strikers best suit Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs?
Published:Serie A has been a hotbed of rich, young striking talent this season and a host of Europe’s top clubs are sure to show an interest in some of the names below before the start of the next campaign.
Here are four that may garner the most attention, with clubs that seem to be best suited to their particular skill sets.
Domenico Berardi to Chelsea
All of Sassuolo’s 42 goals this season were scored by Italian players, with teenage Juventus loanee Berardi helping himself to 16 of them.
Given that Jose Mourinho loves players that work for the team, his defensive contribution from the front will impress the Special One, who must sign a striker this summer.
Giuseppe Rossi to Arsenal
Rossi has already had one difficult stint in England where his career at Manchester United failed to take off, but he was firing on all cylinders at Fiorentina until injury cut short his Serie A season over the Christmas period.
He looks a logical fit for Arsenal, who lack a striker in the mode of Sergio Aguero or Luis Suarez, who are fairly diminutive in size, but are strong in possession, gifted dribblers and able to fashion chances for themselves.
Ciro Immobile to Everton
Assuming Romelu Lukaku doesn’t return for another year on loan or sign permanently, Roberto Martinez will need a first-choice striker and Immobile has been a revelation with 22 goals for Torino.
The fact he is co-owned with Juventus could pose a problem, although he would be an ideal fit at Goodison Park as he likes to play on the shoulder of the last defender.
Mattia Destro – Tottenham
Regular players of Football Manager 13 will be familiar with Destro leaving Roma for White Hart Lane and he is a forward that could be on their radar again next season with strikers clearly needed.
13 goals in 13 starts is a record not be sniffed at, giving him the best strike rate in Serie A, and his ability in the air also suggests he could form a solid partnership to help Roberto Soldado back to his best.
