Ladbrokes boost price on Charlie Austin to break Latics’ hearts

Published:

Charlie Austin and Queens Park Rangers have a second bite at the cherry this evening in their dual bid to reach the Championship play-off final and deliver for Ladbrokes’ customers.

Austin is now 5/1 to break the deadlock against Wigan Athletic following the bookmaker’s enhancement, with the same player also boosted to strike first last Friday.

The former Burnley hitman may not have managed to find the back of the net in the pair’s 0-0 first leg stalemate at the DW Stadium.

But on home turf the Hoops’ talisman is rarely out of the reckoning with six goals in as many of his last appearances at Loftus Road.

Extending that statistic, 12 of Austin’s 18 goals this term have come in Shepherd’s Bush with Austin opening the scoring on 10 occasions.

Manager Harry Redknapp will have been pleased by his team’s first leg display in the north west, a result which stretched QPR’s unbeaten run against the Latics to six games.

And if the R’s can complete the job with Austin’s help then both Redknapp and savvy Ladbrokes customers will be smiling come the final whistle.
