Chelsea to fill their scoring boots against fragile Norwich

Published:

So it may not quite be a Champions League semi-final, but if there’s one team Chelsea would want to face at Stamford Bridge to lift their spirits, it’s Norwich.

The Canaries look relegation bound sat in 18th spot of the Premier League and with the Blues and Arsenal as their remaining two fixtures, while the five-game losing streak they possess looks certain to extend to seven come season’s end.

The match betting odds certainly don’t give Norwich much hope of an upset, as the visitors arrive in London priced up at 14/1 to win the game, with Jose Mourinho’s men a 2/9 chance for victory and the draw a 5/1 shot.

Norfolk’s yellow and green team haven’t won any of their last eight away games in the division and shipped five, seven and four goals on each of their away days to the rest of the league’s top four.

In fact, Norwich have lost all of their away games to the top nine teams in the league but while it looks nailed on that Chelsea – who have the best home record in the division – will win, backing it won’t make you rich.

1/3 on Chelsea winning at both half time and full time, which they have been in seven of their last eight games with Norwich, is a better option but still can be bettered, by the 5/4 on their being over 3.5 goals in the game.

As we’ve already mentioned, Norwich have a habit of getting thumped on the road to the top four and the fact that no side has failed to score less than four goals at home against them this season is very encouraging.

Manchester United, Southampton and Aston Villa have all also managed to slot four goals past John Ruddy this term while Chelsea have scored at least three goals in each of their last five home games against the soon-to-be Championship side.
