Blackpool winger lining up dream Serie A move to Inter Milan
Published:He may have failed to set the world on fire at Crystal Palace this season but highly-rated midfielder Tom Ince nevertheless looks set for a shot at the big time with Inter Milan, who are reportedly close to completing a deal for the midfielder.
Signed by the Eagles on a loan deal in January, the 22-year-old managed just eight appearances for the London club, scoring once, in an underwhelming spell at Selhurst Park.
Prior to the move, Ince had been the subject of intense interest from Liverpool – the club where he began his career as a trainee, and somewhere his father, Paul Ince, previously played.
However the England Under-21 international now looks set to turn to another of his dad’s former clubs – Inter Milan – with the Italians believed to be closing in on a deal for the midfielder.
The Serie A giants are keen to recruit Ince the younger, given that the player is out of contract this summer and therefore available on a free transfer.
But they could yet face some competition to land the youngster though, with AS Monaco among those clubs also linked with a move for the former Bloomfield Road favourite.
Ince made 100 appearances for the Tangerines during a three-year spell at the club, with arguably his most memorable contribution being Blackpool’s equaliser in their 2-1 defeat to West Ham in the 2012 play-off final.
His father, Paul, will no doubt be eager for his son to seal a move to Inter – the club where he thrived during a two-year spell, scoring 10 goals in 54 appearances before moving back to the Premier League with Liverpool.
That spell in Italy helped cement Ince’s place at the heart of the England national team setup, with his son likely to be hoping to reap similar benefits this time around.
