Arsenal set to seal top-four spot in style against West Brom

| 03.05.2014

A win for Arsenal against West Brom would keep their streak of appearing in the Champions League alive, and they are likely to do it in style.

The 3-0 win over Newcastle last time out that took them to the brink of yet another top-four finish was comfortable and, with no new players back from injury, those same players can repeat the dose against the Baggies.

Arsenal are heavily fancied to win the match, at 2/7, while the travelling midlands club are 10/1 shots to pick up a surprise win. A stalemate is available to back at 9/2 with Ladbrokes.

The Gunners are currently on a run of 17 Premier League games without defeat at the Emirates and it’s highly unlikely that West Brom are going to end that.

Pepe Mel’s club have only won once in the last six visits to north London, losing the other five of which four were to nil. It’s 21/20 that they suffer a fifth defeat without scoring on their latest trip.

They haven’t won a game, home or away, against any of the current top six either this season although they have managed to score in all bar one of those games.

There’s something about travelling to Arsenal that makes the Hawthorns dwellers forget their scoring boots though and a punt on the 14/5 about the game finishing 2-0 or 3-0 to the hosts – as it has done three times in the last six renditions – looks good.

Lukas Podolski has been on scoring form for Arsenal of late, bagging four in the last three games, and having recently been declared “not for sale” by his manager can reward Arsene Wenger, and punters, with more strikes against West Brom.

The German is the 9/2-second favourite the break the deadlock at the Emirates while the 5/1 on him scoring two or more, as he’s done twice in the last three games, is another bet worth serious consideration.
