Wait goes on for Barney victory over The Power

Published:

The race for the Premier League play-offs heads to Birmingham and the Ladbrokes News team have previewed all five matches on a crucial night of darts.

With the likes of Phil Taylor, Michael van Gerwen and Raymond van Barneveld all in action we have come up with five selections that when combined make a 27/1 fivefold.

Place just a £10 stake on this fivefold and you could be celebrating returns of a whopping £274.70.

Chisnall to beat Thornton @ 8/11

It’s an important night for Dave Chsinall, who plays twice in Birmingham as he tries to sneak through the back door and into the play-offs.

First up for ‘Chizzy’ is Robert Thornton, who can no longer reach the last four.

Expect a fired up Chisnall to extend his winning record to 9-7 against the Scot, who he beat 7-5 earlier in the campaign.

Van Barneveld and Taylor to draw @ 4/1

Raymond van Barneveld, who averaged 106.5 in victory over Adrian Lewis last week, is in excellent form going into this battle with his Premier League nemesis Phil Taylor.

The Dutchman is sitting pretty in second place and is already assured of a place in the play-offs, but there is nothing he will want more than a first Premier League victory over ‘The Power’.

Barney has never beaten Taylor in this tournament but with the Englishman scrapping for valuable points, we are backing this one to end in a draw with RVB’s wait for a Premier League win over his rival going on.

Van Gerwen to beat Anderson @ 4/11

Michael van Gerwen is already assured of a play-off place after his ninth win of the Premier League against Dave Chsinall.

But despite his success so far the World Champion is not likely to take his foot off the pedal as he goes in search of a top of the table finish.

That could spell bad news for play-off chasing Gary Anderson, who has tasted victory just six times in 20 matches against the world number one.

Wright to beat Lewis @ 10/11

Peter Wright ended a run of three straight defeats last week with a hard fought 7-5 victory over Robert Thornton to get his play-off quest back on track.

And with Adrian Lewis’ throwing off the boil at the moment, Snakebite can capitalise and keep hold of third place in the table with victory over the Stokie.

Taylor to beat Chisnall @ 2/9

This promises to be another vital clash to end the night at the NIA in Birmingham with both players fighting it out to reach the latter stages.

It is Taylor who should prevail against a man he has lost just three times to in the 15 matches between the two.

And with plenty on the line it is the 16-time champions of the world who will have the edge.
