Unstoppable St Helens can cement credentials against Wigan
Nathan Brown’s side haven’t lost since Week 2 of last year’s play-offs as they bid to lead the league for the first time since 2008.
Their fans have to go even further back to 2006 for the last time they saw their team victorious in the Grand Final but everything about the outfit this term suggests the wait could be quickly coming to an end.
Wigan, 15/8 for the win, have recovered well after disappointing reversals against Huddersfield and Castleford and would be making it five wins on the bounce with victory here.
And recent history would not be discouraging considering in two of their last three visits to Langtree Park they have left with maximum points.
However, the favourites, currently 4/9, look a different proposition this time around, especially at home and so the match betting advice has to be to stick with the undefeated home side.
St Helens were awesome in the second period against Castleford last time, running in five tries to claim a dramatic victory.
Brown’s men have scored more points after the break then before in their last four, while Wigan have done the same in two of their last three matches.
The 22-year-old full-back has crossed over in St Helens’ last six games and has clearly been given a license this season to express himself which he is fulfilling to devastating effect.
