Ultimate Warriors treble in tribute to fallen wrestling legend

Published:

It’s a sad day indeed for wrestling fans everywhere. Barely 72 hours after being inducted into the WWE’s Hall of Fame the legend that is the rope-shaking, tassle-sporting, face-paint wearing Ultimate Warrior has departed, so here at News.Ladbrokes we’ve put together a little tribute.

If like this scribe you grew up watching and imitating the Ultimate Warrior (despite the then WWF’s best advice) then you cannot help but be moved by the news of his passing.

His greatest triumph was beating Hulk Hogan in the ‘Ultimate Challenge’ championship bout of Wrestlemania VI back in 1990, a match which is forever enshrined in wrestling folklore.

We felt it fitting to compile a little multiple in his honour, based on those sporting teams and in this case a trusty steed which carry the name ‘Warrior’ in their title. If successful this will pay out at an ultimate 2366/1.

Wigan Warriors 5/2 to win the Challenge Cup

Last season Wigan Warriors swept all in front of them aside to win both pieces of major domestic silverware.

Despite some early Super League hiccups, the reigning Challenge Cup holders have recorded three straight wins and will be the team to stop once again.

Viking Warrior 25/1 to win 15:50 @ Catterick

The first of two rather more speculative bets sees this seven-year-old Irish gelding take to the familiar surrounds of Catterick.

Fair to say this Warrior’s improvement will have to be dramatic, but at least 11,8,5 from his last three outings shows a move in the right direction.

Golden State Warriors 25/1 to win NBA Championship

Another bet which will require the Golden State roster to invoke the powers of the great Ultimate Warrior himself if it’s to land, but stranger things have happened.

The California-based franchise are on course to make the play-offs in the Western Conference and are 7-3 from their last 10 regular season tussles.

All Odds and Markets are correct as of the date of publishing.
