Toure among three best bets in Liverpool vs Manchester City

Published:

Liverpool head into Sunday’s key Premier League clash with Manchester City as slight favourites for victory, but punters seeking a few more reliable bets should read on.

The Reds are 7/5 for victory with the Sky Blues on at 9/5 and the draw priced at 13/5 with Ladbrokes, but with a plethora of great markets to choose from any one of the following bets could prove more reliable prospects.

Liverpool to score over 1.5 goals @ 9/10

The Reds have certainly entertained the Anfield faithful this term, scoring a minimum of two goals a game in each of their last 13 home fixtures in all competitions.

With Luis Suarez in fine form and Daniel Sturridge eager to exact some form of revenge against his former employers Manchester City, backing the Reds to make it 14 games on Merseyside with over 1.5 Liverpool goals scored looks too good to ignore.

More goals to be scored in the first half @ 7/4

Another key facet of Liverpool’s form at home of late has been blistering starts. There have been more goals in the first half of five of the Reds’ last eight games at home, with only one of those games boasting more in the second period.

Brendan Rodgers will want his side to get out the blocks quickly, in much the same way that they did against Arsenal and with all three of the goals in City’s 2-1 home win over the Reds earlier in the season coming in the first period, this looks a good bet.

Yaya Toure to score anytime @ 11/4

Back from a minor injury and likely to start on Sunday, the Ivorian has been in scintillating form in front of goal. Suarez, Sturridge, Aguero and Dzeko may be the main contenders for goals but none of those four offer the same value as Yaya when it comes to choosing an anytime scorer.

On penalty taking duty for the Sky Blues and fresh from a run of five goals in the Citizens’ last four Premier League outings, the former Barca man is one to back, having scored on the team’s last visit to Anfield.
