RVP and Nani out as Man United target PSG star

Manchester United are lining up a sensational swoop for PSG striker Edinson Cavani in a deal that could see Portuguese winger Nani move in the opposite direction.

Nani recently penned a new five-year deal to remain at Old Trafford but after remaining on the sidelines ever since speculation is mounting that his Premier League career is nearing its end.

The former Sporting Lisbon star is highly sought after on the continent – with Fiorentina keen on reuniting him with another United misfit in Anderson – but, according to the Daily Star David Moyes is keen to use the 27-year-old as a bargaining chip in his bid to land Uruguayan ace Cavani.

United’s dismal season has seen them relegated to a 40/1 shot for a top four finish and with bitter rivals Liverpool seemingly on course for the title Moyes is under pressure to bounce back immediately.

With Cavani often operating out wide to allow star man Zlatan Ibrahimovic to lead the attack for the Parisiens Moyes hopes that a swap deal (plus a considerable amount of cash) will be beneficial to all parties.

However, while Nani is being touted as the most obvious player to leave United in this deal, Cavani’s arrival at Old Trafford would surely spell the end of Robin van Persie’s time with the outgoing champions.

Injuries have limited the Dutchman’s appearances this term and while he has delivered the goods when on the pitch, United have played better football with him off it.

The former Arsenal man has scored 17 goals this term but time is running out if Moyes is to cash in on the 30-year-old.

The Red Devils are unlikely to recoup the £24m+ they paid for the striker but with the Cavani deal likely to be in the £50m region RVP is set to be shipped out to mitigate those costs.
