Price Boost: Eden Hazard enhanced to open scoring

Published:

After the defensive masterclass/horrendously cautious performance that Chelsea put in to beat Liverpool 2-0 last weekend the Blues will be extremely confident of booking a Champions League final date with Real Madrid.

While some football fans bemoaned Jose Mourinho’s tactics against the Reds, results speak for themselves and the Portuguese master – although looking increasingly dishevelled – is as sharp as ever and should be backed to see his side through at 10/11.

Having kept a clean sheet in Madrid Chelsea are favourites to win the match at 5/4 and with Eden Hazard back in the starting XI Ladbrokes has delivered another timely Price Boost offer.

The Belgian ace has been in scintillating form this season, scoring 17 goals from midfield in a run of form that has seen him included in the PFA Team of the Year.

The bookmaker has increased the odds on Hazard opening the scoring from 7/1 to a whopping 9/1 for tonight’s crunch meeting with Atletico.

Hazard is no stranger to finding the back of the net in big games, having netted against PSG, Arsenal, Liverpool and Bayern Munich this season, and having already opened the scoring four times this term the 23-year-old looks a safe bet to notch first here.

And, when you consider that Hazard is often put on penalty duty while on the pitch, the 9/1 really is too good a price to turn down.

While the boost perhaps makes Hazard the best value bet there are a host of other Chelsea players vying to write their names in Stamford Bridge folklore and also earn the right to remain in the Blues squad next year.

Demba Ba, whose heroics against PSG saw Chelsea into the semis, can be backed at 7/1 to score first, while Fernando Torres and Samuel Eto’o are available at 6/1 each.

Hazard’s midfield colleague Oscar is a tempting at 10/1 but those banking on a healthy dose of irony could be tempted to back Atletico man Diego Costa to net first.

Chelsea have been less than discreet in their desire to land the Madrid man and while he may yet end up at Stamford Bridge next year, he could end their European hopes by netting first at 5/1.
