NHL: Rangers, Avalanche and Kings to progress
Most of the quarter-final draw for the 2014 play-offs is complete but there is still plenty to play for as three more teams look to progress over the coming days.
The New York Rangers can ensure a date with the Pittsburgh Penguins with victory over Philadelphia tonight and should be backed to do so as part of this Tuesday night treble.
In the other games its win or bust for four teams and opting for Colorado and LA to beat Minnesota and San Jose respectively completes a threefold paying out at odds of 6/1.
A £10 stake on the following three results could return a tasty £70.36.
Philadelphia trail the Rangers 3-2 going into their final home game of the series knowing defeat will see them eliminated.
This will prove motivation enough to ensure a solid performance but New York will be the more confident of the two having won 14 of their last 21 games on the road.
Home advantage is usually vital at this stage of a series but with the Flyers losing four of their last six as hosts the writing looks to be on the wall against a Rangers side that has taken 16 of the last 22 meetings.
Both sides are one win away from a quarter-final date with reigning champions Chicago and with three of the six games thus far going to overtime this will be a tough one to call.
However, with Colorado winning nine of their last 10 games at home, including all three of their home ties in the series so far, it is the Avalanche who ought to be backed.
Minnesota were within seconds of winning two games in the series only to lose in overtime and the Wild will rue those missed opportunities with defeat here.
San Jose may be the home side but with LA coming from 3-0 to level the series the momentum is fully with the 2012 champions.
The Sharks have won seven of their last eight at home, but with that one defeat being the 3-0 loss to LA in Game 5 it’s looking like the Kings will line up opposite the Ducks in the next round while the Sharks are forced to wait another year at least.
