NBA: Road wins tipped for Mavs, Nets and Blazers

Published:

Home advantage is key in the NBA at the best of times and especially so when the playoffs come around.

That said, the Ladbrokes News team has spotted three possible exceptions to this rule in tonight’s matchups with Dallas, Brooklyn and Portland all poised for victory.

The Mavericks and Nets can ensure a 3-2 lead in their respective series, while Portland can wrap things up with two games to spare on the road to Houston.

Backing all three to come up trumps looks a tempting bet at over 20/1, with a £10 stake returning a healthy £227.70.

Dallas Mavericks to beat San Antonio Spurs @ 23/10

San Antonio go into Game 5 as 4/11 favourites courtesy of a head-to-head record that reads 8-2 from the last 10 meetings.

And, with the Spurs playing at home, there is a temptation to back hosts to take a 3-2 series lead.

However, with just a one-hour flight separating these two Texan outfits the road trip issue is seriously diluted, especially with the Mavs winning seven of their last line away from home and the Spurs losing four of their last six overall.

Brooklyn Nets to beat Toronto Raptors @ 13/10

Toronto are priced at 20/33 to make home advantage count in Game 5 and with seven wins from nine at the Air Canada Centre it’s not hard to see why.

However, Brooklyn have been punishing the Raptors in the third period of games in this series and if they can build on such momentum here a 3-2 lead could be their reward.

Much will depend on the performance of Deron Williams. The Nets man scored 22 and 25 in their two wins thus far and 15 and 10 in their two defeats.

Another top display from the 29-year-old and Brooklyn could have the series in their own hands as they return to the Barclays Center.

Portland Trail Blazers to beat Houston Rockets @ 2/1

Portland are just one victory away from wrapping up the series and that should be motivation enough as they travel to Houston.

The Rockets are 1-4 from their last five and will need to rely on home form that has seen them win 15 of their last 18 as hosts if they are to earn a stay of execution.

This will be easier said than done however, with the Blazers in fine form on the road, winning all of their last five away from the Moda Center.
