NBA: Nets and Bulls to cover spread in our Friday treble

Published:

The regular season is almost over with many teams already booking their spot for the postseason.

However there is still much left undecided in the NBA and with teams looking for preferential play-off opponents and hosting rights there is no time for the highflyers to let up.

As such, we’re tipping Brooklyn and Chicago to overcome double-digit spreads against Detroit and Milwaukee respectively, but the 9.5-point margin between Miami and Minnesota will be too much for the Heat to overcome.

A £10 bet on this tasty trio returns a healthy sum of £69.58.

Brooklyn Nets (-10) to beat Detroit Pistons @ 10/11

The Nets (40-34) secured a play-off berth with victory over Houston but were found to be complacent last time out against the Knicks.

That 110-81 loss will have irked Brooklyn manager Jason Kidd and the fiery coach will demand a return to winning ways from his players here.

Fortunately, the Barclays Center has been something of a fortress since the turn of the year and with the Nets winning their last five at home the struggling Pistons (27-48) look doomed to defeat.

John Loyer’s team have lost 15 of their last 16 on the road and six of eight in Brooklyn so expect a dominant display from the Nets as they look to appease Kidd before the playoffs.

Chicago Bulls (-11.5) to beat Milwaukee Bucks @ 10/11

A game against the league’s worst team will provide little insight into the Bulls (43-32) play-off credentials, but the least Tom Thibodeau will expect is a comprehensive win.

The sorry Bucks (14-61) are just one loss shy of a franchise worst defeat record and after losing 11 of their last 12 a trip to the United Center is the last thing they need.

Larry Drew’s side have lost 12 of 15 meetings with the Bulls and have just six victories to show from their last 25 visits to the Windy City.

The Bulls are 11-4 from 15 at home and looking for a fourth straight win, something that will come only too easily against the visitors here.

Minnesota Timberwolves (+9.5) to beat Miami Heat @10/11

That Miami (52-22) will win this not in doubt. The Heat have already clinched their division and all but the most hopeful of T Wolves (37-37) fans have written of the postseason.

However, Points Spread backers are tipped to side with the visitors with Miami underperforming somewhat despite a four-game win streak.

Star man LeBron James is expected to get limited minutes until he is back to full health and it is unlikely that any chances will be taken in tonight’s fixture.

Also, with Minnesota outscoring the Heat 106-102 on average this season, a double-digit win looks beyond the hosts this time round.
