Another Man Utd routing of Norwich expected at Old Trafford

All eyes will be on Old Trafford when interim boss Ryan Giggs takes charge of his beloved Manchester United for the first time against Norwich, and the outgoing champions look a great price at 27/20 to win to nil considering their recent record against the Canaries.

United’s previous two fixtures at home to the East Anglians – earlier this season in the Capital One Cup and the Premier League fixture last term – both finished 4-0, which can be backed at a cool 16/1 here.

Losses without reply against Manchester City, Liverpool and Everton in recent weeks ultimately cost David Moyes his job, but five of United’s six other top-flight clashes since mid-February have seen David de Gea’s goal unbreached, with his team victorious on four occasions during that run.

De Gea’s fellow Spaniard Juan Mata has struck his first three goals in a Red Devils shirt in his last three appearances, including the opener before doubling up at Newcastle, and is 5/1 to break the deadlock against Neil Adams’ struggling side.

Mata notched a whopping 20 times in his second season at Chelsea, whose seeming inability to buy a goal right now must make them yearn for their old number 10, and with Robin van Persie not yet back from injury the 25-year-old should have plenty of space in front of him at the ‘Theatre of Dreams’.

Giggs reportedly told his new charges that they will get back to playing like Manchester United under his watch, and – while this is an odd concept to define – it has been assumed that the 40-year-old’s words mean a more attacking philosophy to that espoused by Moyes will be encouraged.

This makes the 27/20 on over 3.5 goals a must back bet, especially considering three of the last five matches of the beleaguered Scot’s reign saw at least four goals scored.
