Leicester and Wolves on for wins in Football League accumulator

Published:

The Champions League may take centre stage but there’s plenty of Football League action to enjoy with Leicester City and Wolves included in a special fivefold midweek accumulator.

Those two are joined by Leeds United, Port Vale and Bury in a 52/1 shot that brings a return of £532.20 for anyone placing a £10 bet with Ladbrokes on these particular selections.

Leicester to beat Wigan @ 8/5

The Foxes reasserted their Championship dominance with an impressive 2-0 win away at Burnley over the weekend which ended the Clarets’ run of 16 games without defeat in the division and, provided Nigel Pearson’s team turn up in Wigan, a similar story could unfold.

One win from their last four has taken some of the steam out of the Latics’ play-off push, with draws against lowly sides Yeovil and Bolton as well as a loss to QPR showing that Uwe Rosler’s team are far from invincible. Leicester won the reverse fixture 2-0 earlier in the season and should have enough here.

Leeds to beat Charlton @ 11/10

Leeds’ off-field woes may be affecting their league form at present, but we’re still backing them to claim a morale-boosting home win over a Charlton side they have already hammered once this season with Ross McCormack scoring four in a 4-2 victory at the Valley.

The Whites may have only won one of their last five but they remain plenty capable of finding the net, having scored in each of their last seven. That should set them up nicely for the visit of an Addicks team that has won one of their last 12 on the road in the Championship.

Wolves to beat Stevenage @ 8/11

After a couple of minor stutters Wolves look back on course for an immediate return to the Championship, having picked up three wins in a row in League One heading into this fixture. It’s top against bottom here with Kenny Jackett’s side aiming for a repeat of their 2-0 home win over Boro.

Stevenage are without a win in five games going into this encounter and have failed to pick up three points from any of their last three fixtures at the Lamex Stadium. Don’t expect that run to end against the best team in the division.

Port Vale to beat Crawley @ 13/8

Vale’s hopes of promotion may have been dented by a disappointing 1-1 away draw at Stevenage over the weekend but Micky Adams will be determined to push his team on to the very end, with the Staffordshire club still only seven points off a play-off place.

The visit of a Crawley team on a run of three losses in League One represents the ideal opportunity to do that, with the visitors also without a goal in three. Port Vale beat the Red Devils 3-0 at the Checkatrade.com Stadium back in October and look good for the double.

Bury to beat Bristol Rovers @ 23/20

Bristol Rovers may have picked up a much-needed 1-0 home win over Morecambe last time out to help ease any relegation concerns but away form remains a concern for the Gas going into a near-180 mile trip up to Gigg Lane.

Bury, meanwhile, moved closer to safety with an impressive 3-0 win away at Northampton and their home form should see them through, with the Shakers winning four and drawing one of their last six at Gigg Lane going into this one.
