Cristiano Ronaldo boosted to 6/1 from 5/1 to notch first tonight

Cristiano Ronaldo has been boosted from 5/1 to 6/1 to open the scoring for Real Madrid in their crucial Champions League second leg away to Bayern Munich.

After Benzema gave the Spanish giants a 1-0 lead after the game in the Bernabeu the tie is perfectly poised with Carlo Ancelotti’s visitors fully aware than an away goal on the night would leave the reigning champions needing at least three to progress to the final.

There is little chance that Ancelotti will match the defensive mould mastered by his predecessor at Madrid and so those backing CR7 to break the deadlock should have no concern about one bus let alone two being parked.

It’s not only the likely intent of Los Blancos that makes this enhanced price a tantalising one as the statistics of the man at the centre of the promotion shows.

Ronaldo is currently on course for the Champions League top goalscorer awards for the third time after capturing the prize in 2008 and 2013.

The Portuguese captain has already scored 14 goals in the competition thus far, part of an incredible 47 goal haul with 30 being notched in La Liga.

Crucially, in 41 appearances for club and country this term Ronaldo has scored in 31 of them but more pertinently he has opened the scoring in 16 of those games.

As a result, the newly enhanced 6/1 on the 29-year-old doing the business once more and grabbing that all important away goal makes a lot of appeal.

Potential investors shouldn’t be concerned of any after effects of a recent injury either with Ronaldo scoring the first and second goals of the game in Madrid’s 4-0 cruise against Osasuna on the weekend.

If Madrid score the first goal, Ronaldo probably scores the first goal and that 6/1 will look mighty big.
