Champs Lge challengers form transfer triangle around Spurs man

Hugo Lloris has been one of Spurs’ better players in a season that has chugged and stuttered like a Morris Minor running out of petrol.

It’s no surprise to see the French skipper attracting plenty of transfer attention as the threat of zero European football looms over the north London club.

Lloris has already gone on record about how uncertain his Tottenham future would be should the club fail to land a top-four spot this season and, with all chances of that seemingly vanished at 40/1, the vultures are circling White Hart Lane.

Naturally, Tottenham aren’t going to want to let the best keeper they’ve had in the Premier League era depart but, with Man United now just two points behind the Lilywhites in seventh place, a failure to even make it to the Europa League will make bargaining with the stopper very difficult.

Paris St-Germain and Atletico Madrid are both keen to lure the sweeper-keeper away and with both challenging for league titles and the Champions League this season, the number 25 will have to be put in a steel neck brace not to have his head turned.

The La Liga side, who are 12/1 to win the Champions League following their first-leg draw with Barcelona, could be losing on-loan Chelsea man Thibaut Courtois back to Stamford Bridge this summer, so will have capturing a new keeper at the top of their off-season to do list.

They may struggle to convince Lloris to sign on with them when a return home to France is an option though.

PSG’s dominance in Ligue 1 is unwavering and their progress in this season’s Champions League, which they are 10/1 to win, will be a good barometer for future success.

With current glove wearer Salvatore Sirigu seen as unglamorous option for a side so cash-happy, recruiting the national side’s first-choice stopper could appease the haters.
