Bet on Chelsea now at season’s best price to win Premier League
Published:Jose Mourinho has been stating for much of the last two months that Chelsea were not the favourites to win the Premier League, despite the betting in this period largely suggesting otherwise.
However, his belief has now seemingly been proved right, with Chelsea drifting to their biggest price of the season to win the Premier League, a whopping 7/1.
This is a top industry price from Ladbrokes and one that smacks of value, given that the Blues are still firmly involved in the title picture.
Chelsea may have suffered away-day blips at Aston Villa and Crystal Palace recently, but they have won the other five of their last seven in the Premier League and remain only two points adrift of pace-setters Liverpool.
What’s more, Chelsea’s run-in is arguably easier than both that of Liverpool and Manchester City – the only other two clubs that now have aspirations for the title.
Aside from an away trip to Liverpool, Mourinho’s other four games are against opposition in the bottom six of the league standings.
They host a Norwich side that have claimed just eight away points all season and a Sunderland side in freefall.
On the road, Chelsea travel to Swansea, who have taken a solitary point across their home games with clubs currently in the top eight and a Cardiff team that have managed six points against the top half home and away.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have to host both Chelsea and Man City, with the latter also having a visit to Everton on their late-season menu.
All things considered, Chelsea are too long in the Premier League betting at 7/1. But for those preferring a slightly less risky bet, 7/5 is also a huge price on Mourinho guiding his Blues to a top-two finish.
