Barkley and England poster boys make intriguing bet for Brazil

Three of England’s brightest young talents were chosen to launch the Three Lions’ spanking new away kit to be worn in Brazil, offering clues that these stars could well be World Cup-bound.

Everton star Ross Barkley, Liverpool schemer Raheem Sterling and Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have been handpicked to promote England’s chosen on-pitch apparel for this summer’s World Cup.

The good news for punters is that Ladbrokes are offering 6/4 that the highly-talented trio are all included when Roy Hodgson’s final squad is announced.

There seems to be an extremely good case for all three of these being seen ascending the steps to board England’s aircraft when the 23-man playing party head off.

Ross Barkley’s knock against Fulham is reported to be a minor injury for the Everton midfielder, who should be back in contention for the Toffees’ pivotal fixture against Arsenal.

Barkley has not only broken into the England squad this season, but having notched twice in his last three Premier League appearances, has hit form at just the right time.

Comparisons to Paul Gascoigne haven’t harmed his chances any either.

Meanwhile, Sterling’s telling contribution to Liverpool’s rise to the top of the league standings has stood out in recent weeks, especially against Tottenham last time out.

The lighting quick forward looks a dead cert for inclusion at 2/5 to make the grade on an individual basis and was arguably England’s best performer during their recent friendly win over Denmark at Wembley.

Last but by no means least, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has proved to be a favourite of Hodgson’s in the past and a standout performance against Bayern Munich recently caught the attention that he can be played in the middle as well as out wide.

The Ox’s versatility will be a key factor at a big tournament.
