Toothless Milan to come a cropper at Atletico and crash out

Published:

After losing the home leg 1-0, AC Milan have left themselves with it all to do at the Vicente Calderon against a fearsome Atletico Madrid outfit who are many people’s dark horses for Champions League glory.

Even with the mercurial Mario Balotelli in their side it looks like the end of the European road for the Italians, who should be avoided as the 6/1 outsiders for a shock victory.

With the security of the away goal in the bank, 9/20 favourites Atletico Madrid are in good shape to finish the job off against a Milan side that regularly struggle to find the net.

The Rossoneri are way too over reliant on the former Manchester City man for goals, and having kept Balotelli and co quiet at the San Siro, a bet on Diego Simeone’s charges to progress with a win to nil looks a choice option here at 7/5.

Although Atletico’s goal led a charmed life at times in the first leg, this tame Milan team have only scored in one of three games since, losing the last two in Serie A without bothering the scorers.

To make matters worse for the visitors, Atletico’s array of attacking talent have no such trouble finding the onion bag in their own familiar surroundings.

Only Real Madrid and Barcelona have prevented them from scoring at the Calderon all season in any competition, where they average a shade over three-goals-per-game in La Liga.

Atleti registering another 2/3 goals against Milan therefore, is another punt worth highlighting at 21/20.

Simeone’s Spanish title challengers also managed to find the net in either half during two of three home Champions League group games and predicting that they can do it again at 11/10 could also be profitable.
