Scunthorpe and Southend to star in League Two accumulator

Published:

It’s shaping up to be a big weekend in League Two and we’ve got the perfect punt for anyone looking to cash in on the action with an accumulator featuring York City and Southend United.

Those play-off rivals are joined by Scunthorpe, Exeter and Newport as a part of a fivefold bet available at 31/1 with Ladbrokes – odds that add up to a return of £329.10 for anyone staking £10.

Best of all, backing these bets could see you take advantage of our One Out? Our Shout! acca offer, whereby should one of the five selections fail to win, we will refund your original stake as a free bet*.

Exeter to beat Accrington Stanley @ 6/5

Back to back wins have helped Exeter pull away from danger at just the right time and the Grecians will be confident of picking up another three points here having lost just one of their last five.

The hosts have a fine recent record against Accrington, winning each of the last three meetings between the teams and with James Beattie’s team picking up just one victory from their last five games and one point from their last four fixtures played on the road, it’s looking good for Exeter.

Newport to beat Portsmouth @ 11/10

There was a time when Rodney Parade represented a fortress for Newport, with the Exiles winning eight of the first 11 games played at the ground in League Two. The Welsh side remain difficult to beat on their home patch though, losing just one of their last five games played at home.

Justin Edinburgh will also be confident of picking up a win here too, with Pompey on a run of three straight defeats, and Newport having already tasted victory at home against the south coast club, winning 3-0 in the Football League Trophy earlier this term.

Scunthorpe to beat Wycombe @ 4/6

A run of three straight wins in League Two has seen Scunthorpe consolidate their position in the automatic promotion positions but Russ Wilcox will be keen to avoid a potential slip-up against a Wycombe team in dire need of points.

Gareth Ainsworth’s side have picked up just one point from their last five games in the division and have been in woeful form on the road, claiming just a single victory from their last eight away games.

Southend to beat Torquay @ 4/5

The Seasiders got back to winning ways last time out in League Two with a resounding 3-0 victory over Oxford that reignited their play-off hopes ahead of a home encounter with a Torquay team facing the very real threat of relegation.

Phil Brown’s team are unbeaten in four going into this match and are favourites for victory at Roots Hall against a Gulls side that has lost three of their last four games and has travelled badly, tasting defeat in each of their last four games played on the road.

York City to beat Burton @ 11/8

The form team of League Two stretched their winning run to six games this week with a 1-0 victory over Torquay. That result means York have now picked up an impressive 26 points from the last 30 available and should have little to fear when Burton come calling.

Gary Rowett’s team may be six points better off than the Minstermen but they remain patchy away from the Pirelli Stadium, winning just two of their last eleven. York beat Burton 3-0 at home last term and, after going five games without conceding a goal, should have enough to see them off.
