Roma’s rampant home in Serie A should see Udinese’s undone

A fourth Scudetto looks an increasingly unlikely prospect for AS Roma, but Rudi Garcia’s team remain a real force at home and their Stadio Olimpico record suggests Udinese may be put to the sword this Monday.

The Romans are 2/5 favourites for victory following a run of 14 home games without defeat in Serie A, winning 13 and drawing one during that epic run of results.

Udinese can take solace from the fact that that one stalemate came last time out at the Stadio Olimpico against Inter Milan but while Ladbrokes is offering 7/2 on a draw, the Zebrette’s form on the road suggests Roma should be confident of victory.

Available at 7/1 for a rare away win, Udinese have picked up three points in just one of their last five Serie A outings away from the Stadio Friuli.

Francesco Guidolin’s team have also struggled defensively, shipping a whopping eight goals over their last three outings on the road and should Roma come out all guns blazing, then the evens offered on the hosts scoring between two and three goals could tempt.

Garcia’s team have already been boosted by the news that talismanic captain Francesco Totti is set to return to the starting line-up following an injury lay-off.

The club icon was sorely missed during Roma’s recent 0-0 draw with Inter and the subsequent 1-0 away loss to Napoli and looks the pick of the bunch to score for the hosts, with Ladbrokes offering 7/2 on the 37-year-old scoring first, with Totti a 4/5 shot to score at any time.

For Udinese, meanwhile, another club icon could take centre stage again, with the soon-to-retire Antonio Di Natale 8/1 to open the scoring and 5/2 to grab a goal at some point during the match.

The veteran forward was the man of the hour when Udinese visited Rome last season, scoring twice in a 3-2 win for the away side and after netting the winner for the Zebrette last time out against AC Milan, may be among the goals again here.

Despite this though, the Giallorossi remain favourites for victory and though the visitors may get on the scoresheet the 11/10 on a Roma win with over 2.5 total goals scored looks too good to ignore.
