Reading set for more away day success in Championship treble

Published:

We are getting into the business end of the Championship season with the race for the promised land of the Premier League building towards a conclusion.

And this weekend both Leicester and Burnley can take another step towards a return to the top flight with away victories at Blackburn and Charlton respectively.

Add to that a wins for away day specialists Reading at Birmingham and you have a tempting treble at odds of over 9/1 with Ladrokes.

What’s more, by choosing Brighton (10/11) and Wigan (10/11) to make a 35/1 five-fold you will be eligible for Ladbrokes’ One Out! Our Shout! offer. If one selection lets down your accumulator the bookmaker will refund your stake as a free bet!

Reading to beat Birmingham @ 7/5

It’s the Royals’ away form which is keeping them in the hunt for a play-off spot and Nigel Adkins’ side can keep up the pressure on the sides above them with another vital three points on the road.

Reading are unbeaten in their last four away matches and can take advantage of the poor form of a Birmingham team without a win in six league games at St Andrews.

On top of that Adkins’ men were comfortable 2-0 victors in the reverse fixture earlier in the season and at 7/5 are good value for a repeat.

Leicester to beat Blackburn @ evens

Leicester face a tricky assignment at Blackburn but Nigel Pearson’s side, on an unbeaten run of 15 Championship matches, should be full of confidence heading to Ewood Park.

Rovers came out on top when these two sides met here last season but this year the Foxes are the runaway leaders and look set to seal promotion to the Premier League.

The league leaders are also on a run of seven unbeaten on the road and can inflict a third straight home defeat on Blackburn.

Burnley to beat Charlton @ evens

Burnley are now in pole position for automatic promotion after a run of 12 league games without defeat and they can extend that run at a ground where they have enjoyed recent success.

Sean Dyche’s side are unbeaten in three at the Valley and face a Charlton team with just one victory from their last four in the league.

The Addicks will be buoyed by their result in midweek against Bournemouth but a rested Burnley can keep up the pressure on Leicester by taking all three points.
