QPR can put negative off-field press behind them with victory

Published:

There’s never been a better time to bet on the Championship with this weekend’s action offering up an appealing treble of QPR, Derby and Leeds who are all being tipped for victories.

Available at odds of nearly 8/1 with Ladbrokes this particular set of selections offers up a return of £78.30 for anyone staking £10 on this trio with the bookmaker.

Better yet, Ladbrokes now has a fantastic offer for all domestic accumulators featuring five or more teams called “One Out Our Shout”. The idea is simple: choose five teams and if you are one result off winning we will refund your original stake.

With that in mind, why not add an away wins for Nottingham Forest (23/20) and Reading (11/4) to create an accumulator on at odds of just over 63/1 which could mean a whopping  return of a £631.80!

QPR to beat Birmingham @ 11/8

It’s been an interesting week for both QPR and Birmingham with both clubs attracting negative headlines off the pitch this week.

Blues owner Carson Yeung was sentenced to six years in jail after being convicted of money laundering in Hong Kong, while it was announced the Hoops’ debt has doubled to £177m and they have a higher wage bill than last season’s Bundesliga and Champions League runners-up Borussia Dortmund.

But despite the negative media spotlight on Birmingham and QPR, this match represents an opportunity for both sides to do their talking on the pitch.

And our news team is backing Rangers to bounce back from a run of five games without a win against a side who have not tasted victory at home in five matches.

Harry Redknapp’s side showed enough character in their 1-1 draw with Leeds last time out to convince us they have enough quality to beat a Birmingham side who have yet to taste victory over any side in the top six so far this season.

Derby to beat Millwall @ 1/2

A 2-0 defeat to promotion rivals Burnley may have dented Derby’s bid to finish in the top two places in the Championship but the visit of Millwall should see Steve McLaren’s side return to winning ways.

Pride Park has become something of a fortress for the Rams in recent weeks after four straight victories in front of their home fans.

And Millwall, who have not won on their travels in the Championship since September, provide the perfect opposition for Derby to get their promotion bid back on track.

Leeds to beat Bolton @ 6/5

Confidence should be high in the Bolton camp after two successive home victories over Watford and Lancashire rivals Blackburn but away form is still a concern for Dougie Freeman’s side.

The Trotters only success on the road from their last five matches was a 1-1 draw against fellow strugglers Millwall, and Leeds, who have just finished a run of four consecutive away games, will be confident of sealing all three points.

The Whites hit five goals against Huddersfield last time out at Elland Road and Brian McDermott’s side can enjoy themselves in front of their home fans once again.
