Ladbrokes top price on all tryscorers for week 5 of Six Nations

Published:

Ladbrokes are celebrating the penultimate round of the Six Nations by going top price on all first tryscorers across the three matches this weekend.

This fantastic offer has arrived on a perfect weekend of fixtures for punters with France and Ireland expected to dominate Scotland and Ireland respectively.

And with Wales and England having a long history of high-scoring games this promotion could not have come at a better time.

Below are overviews of the three matches, highlighting which players look most likely to cross the whitewash.

Ireland v Italy

The Irish are as short as 1/66 to keep their Six Nations title dreams alive as they host a wooden-spoon destined Italy in Dublin.

Brothers Rob and Dave Kearney are understandably high in the market after opening their accounts in this year’s championship and with the Italians reeling from losing to Scotland last time they will fancy their chances of filling their boots.

Likely favourite Andrew Trimble scored the first try in his team’s opening match against Scotland and has to be seriously considered to kick-off the scoring this week.

Scotland v France

France suffered a major disappointment last time when putting in an abject performance as they were tossed aside in Cardiff and only a win here can sustain their challenge for a first Six Nations title since 2010.

Yoann Huget leads the Le Bleus scoring charts going into their fourth match following a brace in their dramatic opening day win over England and it is no surprise to see the Toulouse back spearheading the market here.

Alex Dunbar scored twice to help Scotland come back against Italy in Rome last week and at what looks set to be a big price he could be popular for those thinking that France may follow-up their slow start last week with another nervous opening period.

England v Wales

Nine of the last 11 meetings between the sides have seen at least 37 points scored and so there should be no doubt that someone at some point will cross over.

Mike Brown and Luther Burrell both scored in England’s opening two matches and will be extra keen to add to their tally with the award for Six Nations top tryscorer there for the taking.

Danny Care posted the all-important five points against Ireland last week and will also be popular to follow up with another score.

Wales have been sharing the tryscoring duties amongst the team with George North, Sam Warburton, Alex Cuthbert and Scott Williams all contributing in their opening three matches.

It’s always difficult to predict this clash but what is for certain is that there are no shortage of names in the Welsh side capable of igniting the game first.
