Everton the last guests Fulham could wish for at the Cottage

Published:

Table-propping Fulham are running out of opportunities to dig themselves out of trouble. Unluckily for them, it’s Champions League-chasing Everton who pay them a visit to Craven Cottage next, bang in form and with an excellent Premier League record against the Londoners.

Only the trio of teams vying for the title can claim to be in better form than Everton at present, as the Toffees have just claimed all 12 of the last dozen points available.

This is in stark contrast to hosts Fulham, who have lost three of their last four and have only one victory to show for their last 11 Premier League outings.

Using the formbook as guidance alone, the 3/4 on an Everton win over Fulham for this televised clash looks nice and chunky.

But when you consider Everton have never suffered defeat to Fulham in the Premier League, winning six out of the eight clashes as well, their odds look all the more generous.

With Arsenal continuing to offer the Toffees incentive that the top four is still well within reach, expect Roberto Martinez’s side to go after this floundering Fulham outfit and to overpower them.

Everton have too much attacking talent for the hosts to cope with, which was evident in their 4-1 demolition of Fulham at Goodison Park in the reverse fixture.

The Merseysiders scoring another 2/3 goals here – as have all the other top six have when visiting the banks of the Thames – looks a steal at 6/5.

Having bagged himself four goals in his last five appearances, Romelu Lukaku, is bound to offer punters the greatest chance of finding the net and the big Belgian can be backed at 4/1 to score first and 11/10 to notch any time.
