Soldado boosted to grab that elusive Spurs goal against Dnipro!

It’s fair to say that Tottenham striker Roberto Soldado had a night to forget in the first leg of the club’s Europa League round-of-32 clash with Dnipro, but he’s actually no stranger to scoring in Europe this season.

The Spanish international has netted half of his 10 Tottenham goals in continental competition this season, signing off with a hat-trick against Anzhi in his last Europa League appearance at White Hart Lane.

Although times have been a little leaner in front of goal since, his manager Tim Sherwood has already promised to include the striker from the start against Dnipro and believes he’s only one goal away from hitting a purple patch.

“He will be playing and hopefully we can see him hitting the back of the net. I sat down with him this week, had a chat with him and said, ‘it will happen, it’s a matter of time, said Sherwood.

We know he’s a top player – now’s the time for one to ricochet off his backside and go in the back of the net and he’ll be off on a run like Emmanuel Adebayor,”

And there really is no better time to back ‘Robbie’ to jump back on the scoring horse than now, as Ladbrokes have kindly boosted his odds to break the deadlock from 7/2 out to 9/2.

He’s actually scored four times in his last three appearances at the Lane, where he bagged the games’s opener from the spot to help Spurs on their way to a commanding 3-0 victory over Stoke in the Premier League.

Being the designated penalty taker is always an added bonus for any would-be scorer and especially one that has scored 5/5 attempted this season.
