PSG target summer move for Chelsea’s Brazilian centre-back

Paris Saint-Germain manager Laurent Blanc is targeting a summer move for Chelsea star David Luiz in a bid to strengthen his defensive options.

According to French sports newspaper L’Equipe, Les Parisiens, who are the 1/14 favourites to win Ligue 1 this season, see the Brazilian defender as an ideal replacement for fellow country man Alex in their defensive line-up.

And with the versatile player’s position in the Chelsea team under threat from the arrival of midfielder Nemanja Matic and the future deal for French defender Kurt Zouma, Luiz would be open to a move to the French champions.

The Brazil international, who could activate our Boys From Brazil money back offer by scoring first in Chelsea’s FA Cup clash with Manchester City, joined the Blues in January 2011 and has made over 100 appearances for the Stamford Bridge outfit.

The 26-year-old has won the FA Cup, Champions League and the Europa League in a three-and-a-half-year spell in west London but this season he has not featured regularly under Jose Mourinho.

Barcelona have consistently been linked with the centre-back, who can also play as a holding midfielder, but mega-rich PSG hold the upper hand and are willing to meet Chelsea’s valuation for the former Benfica man.

Bayern Munich are also interested in the Brazilian’s services but Luiz is seen as the ideal partner for Thiagio Silva as PSG , who are 11/1 for Champions League glory, look to continue their dominance of the French league and make an assault on Europe’s top competition.

Keeping up with the Samba theme, don’t forget we have a brilliant Brazilian offer on Manchester City v Chelsea in the FA Cup fifth round.

From the moment the game between City and the Blues kicks-off through to the time of the first goal, customers will be able to take advantage of enhanced odds on Brazil winning the World Cup this summer, courtesy of Ladbrokes.

The Selecao are currently 3/1 to lift the trophy but from kick-off at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday David Luiz and co will be 6/1 with Ladbrokes to win the World Cup on home soil.
