Norwich and Spurs to work themselves into second half frenzy

While Tim Sherwood was marauding the centre of the White Hart Lane pitch as a player, Chris Hughton was his assistant manager.

Now patrolling the touchline as Tottenham’s fashion-focused boss, Sherwood could end the 55-year-old’s Norwich career with defeat of Hughton’s Canaries in their own back yard on Sunday.

That certainly looks to be on the cards, if head-to-head records are to be believed, as the men of the yellow and green shirts haven’t won a home league game against their north London visitors since 1991 in the old First Division.

Norwich’s lack of goals is what hands them their relegation candidate-tag, where they sit 17th just one point ahead of the drop zone.

Despite scoring just two goals in their last six league games, the 33/20 on Norwich managing under 0.5 this time isn’t the best bet of the game though. That’s because Tottenham have kept just one clean sheet in their last nine away games in all competitions.

Instead it’s the 11/10 that the second half is the most goal-heavy that appeals.

For all their attacking struggles, Norwich make it difficult for their opponents to breach their defences at the other, for the first half at least.

In four of the Norfolk side’s last five league games the score has been 0-0 at half time, which can be backed at 19/10 this time around, but only two of those games went on to finish that way at the final whistle.

That suits Spurs perfectly, who have the third best record in the division in the second period and have scored 26 of their 36 total goals after the break.
