Newport and Scunthorpe will soar in League Two accumulator

Published:

The League Two action continues this week with a bumper schedule of nine games set for Tuesday and a fantastic fourfold accumulator featuring Fleetwood and Scunthorpe, both of whom are backed for midweek wins.

This pair is joined by away day heroes Accrington alongside Newport – a team with a solid record of wins at home – in an accumulator available at odds of over 21/1 which equates to a return of £225.20 for anyone staking £10 on these selections with Ladbrokes.

Fleetwood Town to beat Plymouth @ 5/6

Mansfield may have brought Fleetwood’s three-game unbeaten run to an end with a surprise victory at the One Call Stadium on Saturday but the Cod Army should be backed to return to winning ways on home soil.

Graham Alexander’s team are in solid form at the Highbury Stadium with three wins from their last four League Two games at the ground and will be confident of claiming another three points against a Plymouth side they dispatched 2-0 at Home Park earlier in the term.

Newport to beat AFC Wimbledon @ 19/20

Newport may have endured a stop-start couple of weeks in League Two but their solid home form coupled with Wimbledon’s current slump should ensure another three points for the hosts at Rodney Parade.

The Exiles were unlucky to lose last time out at home to Cheltenham, but having recently beaten automatic promotion contenders Oxford at the ground, they will be confident of victory over a Dons team that has lost four on the bounce going into this game.

Accrington Stanley to beat Portsmouth @ 5/2

Despite their lowly league position, Accrington are very much a team on the up under manager James Beattie and have become something approaching away day specialists in the division, having won three and drawn one of their last four played on the road.

Portsmouth, meanwhile, are in danger of being sucked into another relegation battle with Saturday’s 5-1 loss to Scunthorpe meaning that Pompey have won just two of their last ten games in the division. With Stanley fresh from a 1-0 win over Torquay, the visitors should be backed.

Scunthorpe to beat Bristol Rovers @ 4/5

Rovers pulled clear of the bottom two with another priceless home win last Friday, but they continue to struggle on the road with just one win from their last 15 games away from home in the division, and could come unstuck against high-flying Scunthorpe.

The Iron were in top form against Portsmouth, winning 5-1 to extend their current unbeaten run to 16 games. Russ Wilcox’s team should therefore be backed to claim a third straight win here against the poorly travelling Pirates.
