Three Napoli stars you need to back for goals against Swansea

Published:

With Napoli scoring in each of their last 10 home fixtures in all competitions, it is fair to say that Swansea are facing an almighty challenge to keep the hosts at bay with the Naples club boasting some of the most exciting attacking players in the Europa League.

The Swans can still be backed at 2/1 to qualify from the tie with Napoli 9/20 favourites to win on the night and 4/9 to progress to the last 16. But with goal threats aplenty on display, it may prove a shrewd move to back one of the following three to find the net:

Gonzalo Higuain to score anytime @ 4/5

A haul of 13 goals in 24 appearances for Napoli is impressive enough, but it’s Higuain’s recent form in front of goal that makes him the best pick of the anytime scorers.

The Argentine has notched up an impressive four goals in the Partenopei’s last five competitive games and has proven particularly prolific at the Stadio San Paolo of late, finding the net in each of their last four fixtures at the ground.

Jose Callejon to score anytime @ 15/8

Recruited from Real Madrid over the summer, Callejon has hit the ground running for Rafa Benitez’s team, scoring a solid nine goals from out wide so far this term.

The Spaniard previously found the net for the Naples club in Europe against Arsenal as well as Marseille and after scoring in their recent 3-0 home win over Serie A title challengers Roma, could be the man for the big occasion once again.

Marek Hamsik to score anytime @ 13/8

Lethal both from the penalty spot and any number of dead ball situations, Hamsik remains Napoli’s biggest goalscoring threat from the midfield, having reached double figures for goals in each of his previous six seasons with the Sicilian club.

A haul of six goals in 15 league games is no mean feat and with Swansea shipping eight goals in their last four competitive games, the Slovakian could be among those to benefit from some weak defending from the Welsh side.
