Napoli set for easy three-sy win over Genoa in Serie A clash

Published:

It was De La Soul who famously told listeners that three was the magic number and while it’s unknown as to whether the hip-hop threesome are fans of Napoli or Serie A, those looking to back the Partenopei to beat Genoa should heed the wise words of the US rappers.

For starters Napoli head into the game as firm favourites for victory with Ladbrokes pricing them up at 3/10 for a home victory over a Genoa side that has failed to win in three of their last four games in the Italian top flight.

I Rossoblu have struggled defensively of late too, conceding three goals in two of their previous four fixtures, with this poor run contributing to their current price of 9/1 for victory with the drawn seen as a similarly unlikely at odds of 4/1.

And if anyone is likely to score once the game kicks off it is Gonzalo Higuain, with the Argentine’s haul of three goals in their last four league matches singling him out as one to watch – and maintaining our three-sy theme – with the former Real Madrid man 11/4 to open the scoring.

Three has certainly been a magic number for Napoli at the Stadio San Paolo of late, with Rafa Benitez’s team scoring exactly three in three of their last four matches played at the ground with those victories coming against Milan, Roma and Atalanta.

Backing Napoli to win with over 2.5 goals looks a safe bet at 10/11 with Ladbrokes, but those banking on the blues to deliver another trio of goals could back a correct score bet of 9/4 on the match ending 3-0.

Alternatively, Napoli are available at evens to score 2 to 3 goals in the game – something they have managed in four of their last five Serie A fixtures played at home – and 5/4 to score over 2.5 goals.

But with the Partenopei also a handy 6/5 to win with a -2 handicap, a victory by three goals or more could see you praising the work of a certain cult rap trio yet.
