Liverpool ‘Red Sox’ to lead way in Premier League’s new dawn

There’s no escaping the growing influence of our dear friends from across the pond on our national game and it’s only likely to increase in the coming years, with David Beck-haaam set to open up his very own MLS franchise in Miami.

Last year Manchester City announced they would be throwing considerable commercial weight behind a fresh New York City-based MLS club to rival that of the New Jersey-situated New York Red Bulls.

And with the news that American-owned Liverpool and Manchester United will now be joining City to play in the second edition of the International Champions Cup this summer – a pre-season tournament to be played across 12 north American cities – we’ve decided to have a bit of fun naming our future ‘Premeer League’ franchises.

Boston Red Sox and Liverpool owner John W. Henry will be absolutely pumped if his British interest can return to winning ways, with the Reds rated at 3/10 to claim the points when they take on Swansea on Sunday.
