Cash in on Everton always finding the back of Chelsea’s net

Published:

In the early televised kick-off Chelsea have a gilded chance to lay down a weekend marker by extending their lead at the top of the Premier League to four points for a few hours at least, but they’ll be made to work for it against Everton.

If only Roberto Martinez had a fit and raring to go Romelu Lukaku to call upon to lead the Toffees’ line, and one without a clause in his loan deal preventing him from taking the field against parent club Chelsea.

No such luck on either front. However, the Everton boss does have new signing Lacina Traore to lead the line – fresh from a goal on debut no less – and he can help the Merseysiders keep up their fine tradition of scoring in 13 consecutive games against the Blues, if not seal a positive result.

The Ivorian is a 3/1 shot to get Everton’s obligatory goal against their royal blue counterparts from the capital.

Such is the strength of the unbeaten league leaders at Stamford Bridge though, that the 4/7 on a 12th home win of the season is still the most likely outcome, whereas the 3/1 on the draw or indeed 5/1 on the away win cannot be backed with any confidence.

Nevertheless, those feeling fruity could plump for a first draw between the sides in eight games.

A more profitable avenue to stroll down could well be the one which says Chelsea will prevail in a game where both teams score, for a third straight league renewal in west London, at 12/5.

Furthermore, this theory would seem to throw into serious contention a 2-1 or 3-1 scoreline in the host’s favour which can be backed separately at 15/2 and 12/1 respectively or odds of 17/4 gives punters a crack at either outcome.
