Brighton backed to win in accumulator with Owls and Orient

Published:

Another busy week brings a bumper crop of games from across all four divisions so we’ve decided to put together a four-fold featuring fixtures from the Championship, League One and League Two.

On at odds of nearly 20/1, backing the fantastic foursome of Brighton, Leyton Orient, Mansfield and Sheffield Wednesday to win could leave you seriously in the money, with a return of £214.50 for anyone staking £10 with Ladbrokes.

Sheffield Wednesday to beat Wigan @ 17/10

Second only to Championship leaders Leicester in the form table over the last six games, the Owls are flying after a 2-0 victory away at promotion chasing Reading at the weekend which was their third win in four league games.

New manager Stuart Gray certainly has the magic touch at present and the Hillsborough outfit will be confident of extending their 11-game unbeaten run here against a Wigan side that has travelled poorly this term.

The Latics’ 1-0 loss to Huddersfield last time out was their third straight away game without a win or even a goal and that record bodes well for Wednesday’s chances.

Brighton to beat Leeds United @ 10/11

A solid, if unspectacular, 1-0 victory over Doncaster at the Falmer Stadium was the third straight home win for Brighton, who have conceded just one goal in their last five games as hosts in the Championship.

Leeds may have stopped their recent rot but a slender 2-1 victory away at Yeovil – where a freak goal from a Stephen Warnock free kick decided the outcome of the match – suggests they could struggle against superior opposition.

Prior to that win the Whites had lost three on the bounce away from Elland Road, conceding 10 goals in the process. With the club embroiled in talk of takeovers and unpaid debts, back Brighton to take advantage.

Leyton Orient to beat Bristol City @ 8/11

After back-to-back losses to fellow play-off hopefuls Rotherham and Peterborough, Russell Slade will know that only a victory will do for the O’s when strugglers Bristol City visit.

Fortunately for the hosts, the Robins are on a rotten run of form away from Ashton Gate, having won just one of their last 15 league games played on the road.

Orient, meanwhile, have won two of their last three games at Brisbane Road and will be confident of claiming the three points against a City side that has shipped an average of nearly two goals a game away from home.

Mansfield to beat Bury @ 13/10

Something of an unpredictable force in League Two, Mansfield showed their ability last weekend with an impressive 2-1 win over high flying Southend.

The task now is to build on that result and a home banker against Bury could be the ideal fixture to do just that, with the visitors losing three of the last four they have played away from Gigg Lane.

With Mansfield tasting defeat in just one of their last four home games in all competitions and Bury deep in the relegation mire, a home win could be one to watch out for here.
