Rochdale, Burton and Chesterfield star in away day special

Published:

The League Two action continues apace this week with another bumper round of fixtures from the English fourth tier.

This time round we’ve picked three sides pushing for promotion to League One, each of which faces a true test of their metal with a fixture apiece played on the road.

Fear not, however, as Burton, Chesterfield and Rochdale all head into their respective encounters off the back of some great league form and, when combined, offer punters a treble with a

handsome return of over 10/1.

To break that down, it simply means that a bet of £10 at Ladbrokes on these three wins could see you earn a handsome £113.80.

Rochdale to beat Northampton @ 6/5

Now that their FA Cup adventure is over after a narrow loss to Championship side Sheffield Wednesday, Rochdale look set to pick up where they left off in League Two.

Keith Hill’s team have tasted defeat in just one of their last seven league fixtures and head to Northampton in high spirits having notched up an impressive eight goals over their last three matches in the division.

The Cobblers, meanwhile, continue to struggle with Saturday’s home defeat to Chesterfield making it just one win in eight League Two games and, more alarmingly still, a third consecutive defeat at Sixfields Stadium.

Burton to beat Torquay @ 13/10

The Brewers slipped to an uncharacteristic 4-2 home loss to fellow playoff hopefuls Fleetwood last time out, but they should fare better away to an out-of-sorts Torquay.

All told the Gulls have now picked up just one victory from their last six games in League Two and could find it tough going against a Burton side that eased to a 2-0 win when the teams met earlier in the season.

Torquay have won just one of their last 10 games at home and with the visitors boasting a solid away record that has seen them taste defeat in just one of the last eight games they have played on the road, it’s difficult to argue against an away win.

Chesterfield to beat  York City @ 5/4

The Spireites gave a perfect demonstration of why they should be backed for the win here with a 3-1 away victory over Northampton Town.

Incredibly York have failed to beat Chesterfield in 13 attempts and look unlikely to pick up three points given their poor record at Bootham Crescent, with the Minstermen claiming wins in just three of their last ten home fixtures.

By contrast, Chesterfield have lost just one of their last nine and will be eager to keep pace at the top of the division, meaning an away victory looks likely.
